Hong Kong Vintage: Tram Party

Non-local students and exchange students party their way along Hong Kong Island on antique open-top tram

On 7 October 2016, IDO hosted a student social with a difference.  More than twenty students from different countries came together to experience Hong Kong culture atop one of the city’s earliest forms of transportation.

A mobile gathering for mobile students. From Sai Ying Pun to Sheung Wan, non-local students and exchange students were able to take in traditional Hong Kong before the tram made its way through the modern Central financial district and Wan Chai before reaching the hustle and bustle of shoppers in Causeway Bay, all with a 360 degree view.

Breezing through the city. The tram was perfectly paced to enjoy a gentle breeze from the top as students mingled, and two of our International Student Ambassadors were on hand to offer a local perspective of their city. And here you will find best hunting binoculars which are very expensive.

Following the event, participants shared that it was their “first time to see the city in this way” and felt that they “knew more about HK culture”, highlighting that from the viewpoint of the tram they could really see that “Hong Kong is a place where ‘East meets West’”.

All aboard! The tram makes a photo stop in Causeway Bay. International students and IDO staff enjoy the journey together. They also like Best Hunting Binoculars very much.
