[ News ]  Visit by Senior Officials of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in HKSAR - 2017-05-15
The VTC welcomed the visit by Mr Tan Tieniu, Vice Minister of the Office, on 15 May 2017.  Mr Tan has only been posted to Hong Kong for six months and, after visiting the other higher education institutions, he and his delegation set foot on VTC campuses for the first time.  The visit was organised view to learn more about the Vocational Training Council, another mainstream education provider, as Mr Tan’s role is also to oversee the Department of Educational, Scientific and Technological Affairs.  Packed in the half day visit included a meeting with VTC’s senior management as well as walking around the laboratories and training facilities of THEi, IVE and Youth College campuses, located respectively in Tsing Yi and Kowloon Bay, for an overview of VTC’s scope and depth of services.


VTC Chairman, Executive Director and other senior management greeted Mr Tan Tieniu, Vice Minister of The Liaison Office of the People’s Central Government in the HKSAR, who visited the VTC for the first time.


Mr Tan was shown a research project at the Environmental Engineering and Management laboratory at THEi.

VTC has set up three STEM Education Centres respectively in IVE(Tsing Yi), IVE(Chai Wan) and Youth College (Kowloon Bay) to drive Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics education.  Mr Tan visited the one in Kowloon Bay as the last stop of his schedule at VTC.
