Visitors learn about vocational education in Hong Kong and meet local students

Between 5 and 7 June 2017, 14 students from South China Normal University visited the Institute of Vocational Education, (Lee Wai Lee) and (Tsing Yi), as well as the Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (Tsing Yi) to learn more about the development of vocational education in Hong Kong.

Local insight. VTC students spent time with the visitors, and VTC staff delivered seminars.  Through these experiences, the students were able to get a local perspective on developments in Hong Kong and Mainland China, including study pathways, career prospects and the impact of e-promotion.

Local industry and culture. After a stop at Golden Bauhinia Square on day two, students visited the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC). The tour, organised by the International Development Office, allowed visitors to learn about services offered by HKTDC to Small Medium Enterprises.

Students were very interested in how to set up a business in Hong Kong, and about the vocational education options here, gaining a broad perspective by visiting different VTC institutes and disciplines.
