As one of IDO’s coordinated International Festival 2017/18 activities, the ITE West Symphonia Lunchtime Concert at the Hong Kong Design Institute on 18 December 2017 was definitely a highlight of the event!
ITE West Symphonia is the wind band of ITE College West, set up to support events of the colleges and to provide a platform to encourage young musicians to deepen their quest for music excellent.  In 2014, the band clinched the Gold award at the 2nd Division National Band Competition in Singapore.
Despite on a cold and windy day, the performance still managed to draw audiences from the neighbourhood for the Design Boulevard was packed with people stopping by to enjoy the music!  West Symphonia’s Music Director and Conductor Joel Goh, together with around 50 student musicians, played over one hour of beautiful music, some were familiar to us like Santa Claus is Coming to Town, Jingle Bell Rocks, Prince of Egypt…… Small children played conductor and audiences danced with the music.  It brought fun to everyone!
