Since January 2017, the Victoria State Government, Australia has been conducting a vocational training reform, called “Skills First”, and has made significant achievements over the course of the year.  Keen to learn good practice from other countries, The Hon Gayle Tierney, MP, Minister for Training and Skills led a delegation to Hong Kong, and the VTC was a focus during their visit.  Dr Roy Chung, VTC Chairman welcomed the delegation at Youth College (Kowloon Bay) to share views on VPET training in Hong Kong, and also showcased new facilities and student projects at the STEM Education Centre.
 
Through VTC’s coordination, the delegation visited the Hyatt Regency Hong Kong, Sha Tin, a key partner offering internship places to VTC Hotel Service and Tourism Studies students, and a relationship that demonstrates how important long term partnerships between industry and education providers are in nurturing work-ready talents.
