A warm welcome for new students from across the globe

As another new academic year commences, VTC welcomes 21 new non-local students and 23 exchange students of 17 nationalities. More than 30 of our new students attended Orientation Camp on 30 & 31 August at the VTC Halls of Residence (Tsing Yi), where they received a personal welcome from the Director of the International Development Office (IDO).

Global classroom.  The VTC values diverse perspectives  and IDO is pleased to bring students from Austria, Belgium, Mainland China, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Norway, Mexico, Singapore, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand and the USA to the VTC community, where they will study alongside local students.

Student life.  In addition to information sessions, new students learned first-hand about life as a VTC student through peer-led campus visits, and were met personally by programme leaders and teachers. Our Survival Cantonese lesson brought lots of laugher as students got to grips with the multitude of tones, whilst the Study-life Balance workshop encouraged a positive mindset and challenged the way we think about time and scheduling.

As a new journey begins for these students, IDO would like to wish them all a safe, happy, challenging and rewarding experience here at VTC.
