The 11th China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair (13 May 2015)
The China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair is a major annual cultural event in Shenzhen. For the second consecutive year, the VTC was invited by its strategic partner, Shenzhen Polytechnic (SZPT), to attend the Opening Ceremony. This year, the Ceremony was conducted on 13 May 2015 at SZPT’s western campus, a sub-venue of the event. Prof. Ronald Chung, Deputy Executive Director of VTC, was joined by colleagues from THEi and IDO to attend this event which, for the first time, saw works contributed by HKDI students displayed in the VTC exhibition booth. The students were excited by this opportunity for their works to be showcased to visitors at the event!

Visit to ITE College Singapore (22-24 April 2015)
IDO joined YC in the visit to Institute of Technical Education (ITE) Singapore during 22-24 April 2015. VTC has established a close partnership with ITE, which began in 1998 and, so far, the majority of collaborations between the two organisations have focused on IVE level, such as the biennial International Student Seminar. This duty visit therefore aimed at enhancing mutual understanding between YC and ITE for more collaboration to be developed at this level. The 7-person delegation was arranged to visit all three ITE colleges (East, Central, West), including the Aerospace Hub, Centre of Technology, Beauty and Therapy Training Centre, and the Hair Spa & Design Centre. During this visit, the delegation also took the opportunity to visit Spectra Secondary School, a branch of ITE which offers vocational training after primary schooling with graduates eligible to pursue further study at ITE. Spectra Secondary School and YC share many similarities in terms of student ability, pastoral care and VET training as well as educational pathways. This rewarding trip provided YC the chance to explore exchange opportunities with ITE and Spectra Secondary School for DVE students particularly those studying aerospace, hair dressing and information technology.
