Visit by Sichuan Changjiang Vocational College (19 July 2017)
The Sichuan Changjiang Vocational College has always been very keen in benchmarking with Hong Kong standard in curriculum development by following the guidelines of the Qualifications Framework and HKCAAVQ.  In recent years, they have partnered with several institutions in Hong Kong along this direction.  In this summer, they organised a 21-person teacher delegation responsible for 港標課程, led by principal Mr Geng Bing, came to visit VTC.  With a view to meet the teachers’ expectations, IDO colleagues shared with them Hong Kong education system as well as VTC’s current practice in different areas, including but not limited to teaching and learning pedagogy, technology-enhanced learning and many more topics, during the half day session.
Sharing sessions by Osaka Jikei Group (15-17 March 2017)
As one of the deliverables of the MoU signed with Osaka Jikei Group last year, two experts from Osaka College of Health Wealth had been invited by Applied Discipline to Hong Kong for professional sharing.  The guests were experienced practitioners in healthcare for the elderly and, during the seminars delivered by them, detailed development of the Japanese welfare system and some practical healthcare skills had been introduced.  During the half-day training workshop catered for students majoring in Health Studies that followed, students managed to learn some practical health protection skills.  The Japanese experts also represented the Group to attend the Opening Ceremony of the HealthTech Centre on 16 March 2017.
Further Visit to Zhongshan Polytechnic (15 March 2017)
After several rounds of exploration visits to Zhongshan Polytechnic in the past few months by VTC senior directorates, both sides managed to identify some potential collaboration areas for consideration and further study.   On 15 March 2017, representatives of Business Administration and Engineering disciplines joined a visit organised by IDO to Zhongshan Polytechnic, with a view to meet with their corresponding counterparts.  The campus visit and face-to-face discussions enhanced better and mutual understanding, as staff/student exchange, student competition, joint development of teaching and learning package were among the agenda to be discussed.
Visit by Spectra Secondary School, Singapore (13 March 2017)
Through the introduction of affiliated institute ITE Singapore, Spectra Secondary School intended to send two batches of students of 40 persons each, respectively from retail and facilities disciplines, to visit Youth College (YC) in May for a one-day exchange.  The programme is comprehensive and interactive, for students of both institutes will have a chance to mingle.  In order to make sure everything will go as planned, the Vice Principal of the School Ms Angela Lim and her colleagues came to Hong Kong in March to conduct a recce.  They were met by Mr Ben Mau, Principal of Youth College to explain the whole arrangement and accompanied to see the YC Kowloon Bay, Kwai Chung and Kwai Fong campuses where the students will be visiting in May.
Visit by Shanghai Public Utility School (7 March 2017)
Shanghai Public Utility School (上海市公用事業學校) is a key secondary level vocational school in Shanghai specialising in railway transportation, city environment and other public utility related programmes.  In their fact finding trip to Hong Kong, the delegation led by their Vice Principal paid a visit to the Youth College located at the VTC Kwai Chung Complex.  Apart from being introduced the operation and mission of VTC and Youth College, the delegation was also led to tour around the Pro-Act Automobile, Fashion Textiles and Welding Centres for a more comprehensive understanding of VTC’s training provided to students similar to their level.
