International Visiting Fellows / Scholars Funding Scheme

Launched since 2013, our International Visiting Fellows / Scholars Funding Scheme continues to provide funding support to bring in talent and expertise from all over the world to share their experience and professional insights through lectures, workshops, seminars and demonstrations. The visiting fellows include master chefs, scholars and professionals in their fields, allowing our staff and students to learn from the best in the industries.

Assisted by International Culinary Institute (ICI) students, Michelin-starred chef Max Fischer demonstrated two dishes of authentic British cuisine.
 
Mrs Wendy Narby, Senior Wine Consultant of L’Ecole du Vin de Bordeaux, provided the latest Bordeaux wine knowledge for our teaching staff.
 
Prof. John Chudley, Executive Dean of Warsash Maritime Academy, Southampton Solent University, shared his experience in the higher apprenticeships of maritime industry.
 
Ms Hyewon Ahn demonstrated how to “paint” clothes on the skin.
 
Ms Adelaide Michelini, Principal Instructor of a famous Italian culinary institute Gambero Rosso, instructed our students in preparing Italian cuisine.
 
Hospitality students were shown by Prof. Kuo Jip, Director of the International Personal Trainers and Fitness Academy, how to provide physical training for the elderly.
 
Prof. Paul Bailes, Emeritus Professor of Computer Science of the University of Queensland, delivered seminars in software system developments to Higher Diploma students.
 
Professor Dr Ursula Renold, ex Director-General of the Federal Office for Professional Education and Technology and specialist of the vocational education system in Switzerland, hosted a seminar/workshop on the TVET system for VTC staff.
 
Prof. Hsu Yeh-liang, Professor of the Mechanical Engineering Department of Yuan Ze University, shared his insight over the use of health technology for the independent living of senior citizens in good health, comfort and safety.
