VTC is continuously making new connections, not only abroad but also in Hong Kong’s international community. On 4 October 2018 we hosted the German Deputy Consul General, Mr David Schmidt. Following his attendance at an August MoU Signing Ceremony between VTC and Siemens Ltd. (Hong Kong), Mr Schmidt was keen to learn more about the VTC and explore collaboration opportunities. He and his colleagues had a comprehensive tour of Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi) Chai Wan campus, accompanied by THEi Principal Professor Christina Hong and a THEi exchange student from Germany. Guests then toured facilities of the Hospitality Discipline where they were warmly received by VTC Deputy Executive Director Ms Josephine Kea

Visit by Consulate-General of Singapore in Hong Kong (27 July 2017)
The VTC has been partnering closely with Singapore on VPET, under the support of the Consulate General of Singapore in Hong Kong.  On 27 July 2017, Dr Carrie Yau, Executive Director of VTC and the Principals of IVE (Tsing Yi) and Youth College (Kwai Fong) hosted a visit by the new Singapore Consul-General Ms Foo Teow Lee and Consul (Political) Mr Howard Fu.  The honourable guests were briefed the latest developments of the VTC and vocational and professional education and training in Hong Kong.  When touring around the Youth College training facilities for hairdressing, Ms Foo happened to meet with students who would be attending this year’s WorldSkills Competition in Abu Dhabi.  This was a delightful encounter and served to enhance better understanding of the guests in VTC.
Visit by Shaoguan University (25 July 2017)
Shaoquan University has been one of the destinations for VTC’s student exchanges starting from AY 2010/11.  Making use of the summer vacation, Mr Zhong Liangzhen, Director of Office for International Exchange and Cooperation, Hong Kong, Macao & Taiwan Affairs and his colleagues paid a visit to VTC on 25 July 2017 to further enhance the already well-established collaboration. IDO hosted the meeting and visit at IVE (Haking Wong), which the Shaoguan guests had never been before. They toured around the Department of Hotel, Services and Tourism Studies facilities and some other labs.
Visit by Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (24 July 2017)
Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) in Canada is not unfamiliar to the VTC as it was one of the accommodation sites of the WorldSkills Competition in Alberta back in 2009.  While enroute to Vietnam to attend a conference, its President Dr David Ross and Vice President Corporate Development Dr Alex Zahavich dropped by Hong Kong for a visit to the VTC to follow up on their earlier visit.  The aim of visit was to evaluate the possibilities of mutually collaborations as both institutions have a lot in common, yet room to complement each other through partnership.  After the meeting, Dr Ross and Dr Zahavich were taken to Chinese Culinary Institute (CCI) to enjoy the delicious meal prepared by the students there!
