Progression Pathways

Notes:

  1. The Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi), School for Higher and Professional Education (SHAPE), Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (IVE), Hong Kong Design Institute (HKDI), Hong Kong Institute of Information Technology (HKIIT), International Culinary Institute (ICI) and Maritime Services Training Institute (MSTI) are member institutions of VTC.
  2. Holders of senior secondary school qualification or equivalent can apply for admission to the 4-year Degree programmes offered by THEi and 2-year Higher Diploma programmes offered by IVE/ HKDI/ HKIIT/ ICI/ MSTI. Please click here for the general entrance requirements.
  3. VTC’s Higher Diploma graduates can also apply for senior year entry to the following degree programmes with credit exemption where applicable:
    • Degree programmes offered by THEi
    • Top-up degree programmes offered by SHAPE overseas partner universities [see Note 6 below]
    • Degree programmes offered by local and overseas universities
  4. Holders of higher qualifications, e.g. Higher Diploma, Associated Degree or equivalent, can apply for senior year entry to THEi. Applications are considered on an individual basis.
  5. The bachelor's degree qualifications awarded by THEi are widely recognised locally and internationally. THEi graduates can apply for master's degree programmes offered by Hong Kong and overseas universities.
  6. According to the current immigration laws and regulations in Hong Kong, non-locally accredited programmes are normally not applicable to Mainland Chinese, Macao and Taiwanese applicants. Non-local programmes that are locally accredited are not applicable to Mainland applicants in general, except for those having been approved by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China.
