The First Sichuan-Hong Kong VPET Forum

The Vocational Training Council (VTC) and the Sichuan Provincial Department of Education jointly organised the First Sichuan-Hong Kong VPET Forum on 22nd November, 2022. The forum was held in hybrid mode in Hong Kong and Sichuan. Mr Donald TONG, Executive Director of VTC, representatives from the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China, Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of Sichuan Province and Sichuan Provincial Department of Education were guests of the forum, and they delivered the opening remarks representatively. With the theme of "Sichuan-Hong Kong Vocational Education Cooperation and Prospect", seasoned VPET experts and industry representatives from Sichuan and Hong Kong were invited to share the topics of the latest development and prospects of vocational education collaboration, skilled talent cultivation and industry-education integration. 

The VTC has established long-standing cooperative relations with many vocational and technical institutions in Sichuan Province. Riding on the Agreement on Comprehensive Enhancement of Sichuan-Hong Kong Vocational Education Collaboration between the Department of Education of Sichuan Province and the VTC (《四川省教育廳和香港特別行政區職業訓練局全面深化川港職業教育合作協議》) signed in 2021, VTC will continue to expand the collaboration with VPET institutions in Sichuan in various aspects including student and staff exchanges, training programmes, curriculum development and Mainland students studying in Hong Kong in order to broaden students’ horizons, provide students with a diversified learning experience and help them develop their advantages and potential.
